Glendive to Billings ... 80 minutes

Havre to Billings ... 75 minutes

Saranac Lake to Boston ... 100 minutes

St. Louis to Owensboro ... 69 minutes

Sidney to Billings ... 96 minutes

I'd would hate to build a business model strictly on EAS routes should congress decide to start whittling them away. Granted CAPE AIR has survived under the model, will the model exists in a couple of years ?

From my seat, nothing beats those PT6 engines in this class of aircraft

Many routes are much shorter, and many routes are non eas. Turbine engines cost far more to operate especially on shorter routes, as much of maintenance is driven by cycles not hours... Cape exists in part by being able to be cheaper than turbine operations. There are plenty of turbine competitors already.

I flew 2 of those routes so I know they have longer routes but the majority of them are short. Like you said, it wouldn't make much sense to rebuild their fleet based on eas routes.

St Louis hub , all 6 cities are EAS routes

Billings hub, all 5 cities are EAS routes

Rutland EAS

Lebanon EAS

Augusta, Rockland, Bar Harbor all EAS

Mayaguez, PR EAS

17/34 cities served are EAS

The Naval Academy taught me that equals 50%

I’m not sure why that makes the turbine a better airplane. Cape wins EAS contracts by being a lower cost option with higher frequencies. It’s fundamental to the business model...

Not sure why the percentage matters. Cape’s business model for EAS is to be the low cost bidder, have two engines for safety, and have higher frequency than the competition. Ten seat piston twins flying 135 commuter is the basis of that formula... now with a nicer cabin/flight experience.

For non EAS, same deal, keep costs low and frequency high...
