Do you think its realistic to borrow a classmate's car to get groceries and run other errands?
We had 10 people in my class. We got behind for a few days in ground school. Who knows if everyone will actually show up. The last class was supposed to have 7 but only 2 came. They are half way through flight training already. I would expect it to be decently fast as they will most likely have all of us done by the time you guys are through with the 2 week groundschool. They are pushing us through fast now. Going to be a slow down next weekend for the Nantucket daffodil festival. All instructors will be flying.

On the car I have no idea man. There was 2 people with cars in my class. They were nice enough to drive me to go grocery shopping.

I'm trying to decide whether to fly there or make the drive and have my own car for the duration of training. I live in Indiana and the drive would be ~15 hours

Thanks!!
I'll be there as well. It isn't feasible for me to drive, but there are apparently ZipCars near the HQ in the transit village, so that's my plan for errands. Anything else I'll have to walk/shuttle, or bum rides off of classmates like you.

Hi there,

Glad to hear you'll be showing up as well. I decided to fly and just figure it out. I'll be heading out to Hyannis this Sunday so if you'll be in the area I'd be glad to meet ya.

Is commuting an option at all? I would be looking at a fall class bringing in pt 135 experience at around 750ish hrs. My situation does not allow for a relocation and I am Colorado based.

Shouldn’t be an issue. The base in Billings is a easy commute from Denver. I know a few guys who do it.

Just wanted to share for anyone interested. I applied with 330 TT, ASEL, AMEL, Instrument. They emailed me the posted mins of 500 TT and said those are "required". I definitely appreciate the response rather than just crickets. Just wanted to post in case anyone was in a similar boat!

Just so I have this clear... for example, an individual gets hired at Cape with 500TT and when they reach 1500 TT, they are required to upgrade to C402 and fly Captain for 1000 hours or one year?

How about PIT to BOS? Any 9Kers doing that commute?

Once you get 1500 you upgrade to captain and you have to do 1 yr from the date of your Atp checkride.

None that I know. But it can be a lot harder to commute to your base if you are based at a outstation. Ususally the only way Is on a cape flight.
