Cape Air
#231
Nov. 18th was the last I heard from the recruiter and I was number 9 out of 10. Not sure if they've hired any more since, although I just got a letter from KP and she said they're properly staffed for the winter and don't forsee another class until late spring (right around the time my unemployment runs out! :-/) Also, I have no idea if the farm team (late Nov. 2009 class) and the FO's (Jan. class) are coming out of the same pool I'm in, which would effect that number... Anyone know if they have one big pool or three seperate pools?

I heard that rumor 6+ mo ago. I put it in the same class as PDX to anywhere; on the company's 'wish list', but unless there is a subsidy Cape Air ain't doing it. Of our last 21 new cities only HPN was on an unsubsidized route.
If you want to know where Cape Air is expanding, check out EAS routes up for bid, with stage lengths in the 75-150nm range, currently operated by a feeder with a generally poor customer service culture. And if there are three or four outstations all up for bid at the same time, so much the better. That's where I'd wager our next expantion will be.

We're in CASS, and have jumpseat agreements with just about everyone. Pretty much industry standard, and comparable to any other airline. We also have non-rev pass benefits with CAL and JetBlue.
ZED fares/ID90 are also available for certain airlines, but I don't have a list off-hand. And yes, the benefits are extended to FOs just the same; just don't be that guy who gets into an argument with the captain of an airplane he was trying to catch a ride on (that actually happened). Nobody likes that guy.

Jan 18th class was 10 FOs all going to the STL Region, with the new American codeshare they want 2 crew on all flights. The times for those FOs range from 300s to 900s, with the lower time guys all working the ramp for Cape Air in the past 2-4 years. No word on the next class and if it will be Captain, PIC, or FO.
The class is about halfway through flight training, should be out in STL by at least March 1, but probably a little earlier.
