A college degree is not going to help any when applying for an entry level Part 135 job. A CFI cert is a better line on a resume at this point in your career.

They absolutely don't care that you have a degree. When the demand for low time pilots allows them to raise their hiring minimums and save on insurance they do. The thing I've seen help low time people is multi time if that operator flies multiengine aircraft. 300hrs with 100ME may help someone. Or same scenario with tailwheel time for tailwheel operators. The sweet spot for wet commercial pilots was 2017-2018. Probably will be a few years until we see that again.

Hey I have a couple questions, asking for someone else.
How high is the training bond and duration? I heard 2 years duration.
Is it true that you can renegotiate the training bond at 1200h or when you become a captain? And what does that result in?
What does the flight training look like?
Do they wash you out easily or do you get extra training like at an airline?
Why does everyone here say stay away from boutique?
Thanks in advance

Just click back about 10 pages and read on from there, with the options available in todays market, anywhere else is a better choice. My prediction is this company will be insolvent and out of business by end of year.

A requirement to stay for “x” amount of time or be required to pay back training costs is usually indicative of poor morale and short stays. A good indicator to look elsewhere.

Is the ATP/135 experience requirement for boutique air DEC mandatory?

How is the quality of captain training. what does it entail?

Not even remotely required. I was a DEC with about 1200 hours and 190 hours of multi. No prior Jet or Turbo-prop experience. They just need you to meet Part 135 IFR/PIC requirements.
I'm 19 and made it through the training just fine. Quality is....meh. They don't train you nearly enough for what you're expected to know as a DEC. Unlike many here, and many of my friends who knew about Boutique, I won't tell anyone to not go to Boutique. Go there. learn. its a great learning experience. but if you can go somewhere else, do it.

I just received an offer today for a Captain position. $30,000 one year training contract. That’s the same amount my ERJ-145 contract was. No thanks😂

Default Avoid

Former Booty Q pilot here,

Avoid BTQ at all costs right now. The company is on a downward trend having lost almost all its EAS to other carriers like DAC or VTE.

The management of the company could careless about the pilot group and the pay is horrible compared to the industry currently. Reserve shifts are now 1pm to 1am in base which means you 100% can’t live outside of base if your on reserve. Reserve is all for charters now which good luck if that lasts for them.

The PC12 is amazing but don’t expect to receive any real proper training that will make you feel comfortable as a PIC in the aircraft before carrying passengers. There is a rumor the CP has a charge on his record for something you don’t want to be around and one of the Check airmen aggressively hits on female pilots and is uncomfortable to fly with if your a male because of his mental state.

Please do your career a solid and avoid flying for BTQ you will thank me later.

Avoid at all costs.

Poor pay
Borderline illegal work rules
Reserve is 1pm to 1am in Base
No training that prepares PIC for passenger ops
CP has a charge for something I can’t discuss
One Check Airmen sexually harasses female pilots
MX is nonexistent
They are down to 3 routes and just put in another termination notice for another.

Dont risk your cert on this horrible company you will thank me later
