If they did, several of them were volunteers because the alternative future they feared was getting senior assigned to less desirable domiciles.

No, this award was a re-do. Everyone on the list had been previously awarded then the award was rescinded, and reposted. They were instructed to update their bid so they knew it was coming.

The original bid that was rescinded had 8 volunteers that bid and 6 volunteers that were selected.

Thanks Union for screwing over every senior FO.

As for volunteers, yeah it's curious how so many were forced into ORF, but once they saw their time was up and were able to put in an actual bid they mostly got what they wanted.

PS... Everyone Union rep needs to be replaced.

Any idea at what point in training/seniority the FO's left? If at the 1-2 year point that would be interesting.

11 FOs were here less than 1 year
7 FOs were here 1-3 years
2 were 3+ years

It has been a steady trend for last few months where 10+ FOs less then a year had been leaving. Obviously no immediate impact but something that may affect CA upgrades when we run out of upgrade eligible pilots.

Great verbiage.

Those times are pretty crappy. Not compared to the way it was, but comparing it to the fact you could go somewhere else, fly right away, not get forced to upgrade (or if you do, you'd at least fly), and probably make more money. I hope they have a plan to fix this

Every month, it seems my chance at a line moves away by a month. Maybe one day...

It’s pull down for fall schedules it seems.

ORF

Looking to get based at Norfolk out of training (start in Dec). I have a house there and the Navy will move me (retired). What are the chances of being stable there I.e., not being forced to re-base for a few years? From the looks of the graph above I’ve got a good chance but the whole forced upgrade & re-basing sounds bad. Also have offer from Endeavor but don’t like their bases and wouldn’t move to any of them, therefore would have to commute.
