Thanks guys... got it now. What do you see as trends here . Are the new bases having impact or shortening time to get to R1 at CLT, TSY, CVG

Not for me. I was going to have a R2 line in May for CLT but the lines were taken from CLT for Philly and Norfolk so yet another month of SCR in June for me.
QOL for those who have lives and families in other cities could hardly get much worse. Especially if they live somewhere that is not a hub city. Then it's a two leg commute to reserve! Adding insult to injury, your ($250) commuter hotel allowance cannot be applied to a crash pad that you so badly need... |

At least you aren't one of the FOs who were forced to upgrade to CA, then given SCR in Norfolk. It was considered voluntary, so no allowances were given. So you're stuck commuting to reserve, and no per diem or hotels.

I thought that anytime you changed bases you got hotels and 24/7 per diem before your RLDs. Is that not the case?
Now if you were senior FO who lived in base and now you're forced to be CA on SCR in a base you don't live at, that's a poor situation. |
Anyone know who I need to talk or the process of getting a parking pass for a base that you aren't based in? I live in ORF but I have to commute to DAY until August. If not, does to company reimburse parking expenses??? Thanks..

Might be the local parking authority. I pay $50/month to them to park in the airport parking lot so I can commute to CLT. Had to bring a letter verifying that I worked for an airline.

I believe he is based in DAY but has to park in ORF where he lives. Not sure if he has a car in DAY and if so, if they only pay for one airport and if it has to be your domicile. I just know that I live in a non hub city and had to pay the local airport parking authority to park there as the company would only give me a pass for CLT.
No I don't have a car in Dayton. But I literally live 5 mins from ORF and but I through an email I received the company will not give me a parking pass until I hold ORF in August which is pretty jacked up, but I going to continue to investigate the issue and how are the experience guys are handling parking situations in one of the companies domiciles but commuting to another Domicile..... Did they tell you how the parking works in ORF? I’ve sent 2 emails with no response. They sure can email us when they need something but when we do, not a peep.
If you are based in DAY, the company will only provide parking there. Not in any other base. |

If you are based in ORF, per the contract the company must provide parking there. Contact your ORF base coordinator.

Next question, who’s the base coordinator and how do I find said person.
Welcome to DAY My Name is Lisa Olsen, DAY OPS Coordinator. My office is located offsite at PSA Corporate HDQ next to the Learning Center, hours are M-F 0800-1700. Below you will find information that will help you in DAY along with codes for other bases. Crew Room & Quiet Room Location: Concourse A across from Gate A18 Code: Quiet room is located inside the crew room Parking Pass Information: To obtain a DAY parking pass you must apply in person. Please call or email prior to coming to obtain a parking pass. Employee Parking lot is located on Cargo Rd, the entrance is on the left after the Air Traffic Control Tower. Failure to return the Parking Pass after a domicile change is a $50.00 charge via payroll deduction. Not much info about ORF yet |

But the folks who were holding SCR in CLT in Feb that can't hold it now are probably irked. |

Okay, I've heard rumblings of this but I'm now officially curious -- does PSA have long term plans to close CLT? Where is the flying going? PDT?
The lines have gone to PSA flights in ORF and PHL. CLT is still BY AN ENORMOUS MARGIN the largest base. |

Lol no. The company only shifting some lines from CLT to fund the growth of PHL and ORF. But I believe as Envoys CR7s continues to come over and and the the new CR9s come online to replace some CR2s, PHL and ORF will see the growth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Just curious -- I presently live in NJ but like most sane people I want to get out ASAP.
Say I come to PSA and get my local base (PHL) initially. I move to CLT once I can hold at least SCR as an FO there (less than a year it appears). But then, say after 6-12 months in CLT I am force upgraded, which requires me to commute to reserve. All other things being equal, would it be easier to commute from CLT or another outlying base like PHL? I guess what I'm asking is whether I am more likely to get commuter-friendly flights out of CLT vs a smaller base like PHL and therefore whether it makes more sense to move to CLT sooner rather than later. |

Following scheduled departures from CLT today-
AA Mainline: 309 Envoy: 10 XJT: 6 PDT: 24 PSA: 288 Republic: 21 I doubt PSA will shut down CLT. I believe we're even building a new mx facility near E concourse to better service our needs. |
