Or even hold a line at one of the other bases. I live near CLT, so I want to minimize commuting on reserve as much as possible.

Current junior CLT captain is a mid '17 hire. More relevantly, approx 1050/1950 seniority

Most junior line holding captains are January 2017 hires in ORF,DCA, and CVG.

Can anyone chime in with how many hours a new hire might expect to fly at DCA? I thought I read in another thread that there was lots of time sitting reserve but hours were around 20-30/month, is that correct?

My friend just left DCA. Averaged 6 hot reserve sits and about 25 hours over the last 4 months.

Can anyone give an idea of what most reserve schedules look like? Is it 5on 3off? Are days off more scattered about? Does it vary by base?

Thanks.

Usually 5 days on with a mix of 2/2/3/4 days off for a total of 11 days off a month.

Default Base bid award

This is incorrect. Reading the top line of the award shows the date that you write. Read the very bottom line: Upon completion of SIM for new hires.
There are essentially 2 award dates. New hires get it in completion of training. Base swaps have a specified date.

The first award is the one you get upon completion of sim. The next bid award you’re no longer a new hire, you’re essentially “Dayton” based.
