Based on what I’m reading in the B6 forum, it looks like Jetblue is trying to get the pilots to relieve their scope so that way AA can expand their codeshare agreement so that AA regionals can do flying for them.

Maybe that explains the hiring...

Well if that is the case it should be interesting because I don't think B6 pilots will give up up to 12 years of scope for a one time 2% raise...

I would pray not.

I just thought it was an interesting coincidence.

Nah man. I don't see this one passing on the B6 side. 12-2 MEC vote was just to push the pilots towards wanting it! A few new Q&A notes were released to the pilots that helped to clear ups some "rumors" LOL.
But at the end of the day B6 pilots have always prided themselves they were different and they weren't like mainline. So If they stick to that mentality it wont pass.
Its the first small vote towards a M%*#@* and most of those B6 pilots realize that.

They're also going to stick to their guns, in the face of the MEC. Their last big LOA they wanted industry leading pay, but instead received rock solid scope. We’re told scope is more important than pay, pay can come later. Now the MEC essentially wants them to give up that scope that was so touted... it’ll be a landslide “no”. Just when they say no who’s going to hurt the most.

So is that expected TA with B6 what caused the hiring at PSA? Did anyone find out any more info on that? Doesn't sound like a good situation if it won't pass.

It's just a rumor that it's because of B6 TA. Honestly lets face it - we'll never know for sure. These are questions way above the payscales of anybody on this forum. I sincerely hope that B6 pilots vote No. The fact that so many of us are flying RJs is a direct result of companies expanding scope. I've already been furloughed from PSA once, I won't be surprised if it happens again. But guess what? If mainline didn't scope away as much of their flying as they have most likely many of us would've already been flying at mainline already today.

Scope expansion doesn't help anybody. We're just shooting ourselves in the foot guaranteeing that there are more regional jobs and fewer mainline jobs. While it sucks being furloughed this TA is a deal with the devil.

I highly doubt that a company would start hiring betting on a TA with another company. We don't do any Northeast flying and the only AA regional doing that now is RPA. It seems like RPA is putting over 40% of their AA flying out of NYC starting in the April/May time frame, so I would guess if that did pass, it would be RPA doing the flying.
