I Love PSA

Haven't got any word out of anyone other than Skywest and they told me to sit tight until the April interviews. Two failed check rides (private and MEI add-on). 1644TT 466MEL. Previous heavy aircraft systems experience as a mechanic. I guess no word is better than a "no thanks letter."

Remember when......
In late late 1987 it took a minimum of 2000TT 500 ME to just get an interview to fly the mighty BA3100 for Jetstream International (later renamed PSA). We were shocked when the pay to play stuff started and we had 1200 TT guys showing up in the right seat of the DO328. Left before the RJs and flow through started (dang we waited years and years for both) and now it seems 25 years later the industry may be headed full circle. With the 1500TT rule approaching (get over it and start instructing, towing banners and taking the "crap 135 jobs to build your time and yes it does teach you decision making) and the new rest rules in place, I can definitely see scope being "blown up" and the majors reclaiming the jet flying, (EMB 170s and bigger?) which is good news cause it means more hiring at the majors with the better pay and work rules. Interesting times we work in. So is TK still running the show at PSA? "Bluestreak"....still makes me smile everytime I hear it on the radio which isn't much since I spend most of my time away from the east coast. BTW, not that old yet at 47, respect those "lifers" cause they have much to pass along.

TK retire or die? Didn't like him but he obviously knew how to run an airline, to bad he didn't have any people skills.
Could be wrong on scope, time will tell. On the rest rules, sorry but they are what they are and they are the FAR now. It will change how scheduling at the regionals is done. Pretty sure the ATP/1500 hour thing is now the law. I don't see how wishful thinking will change that (and it is not a bad thing from a pilot standpoint) but again if there is one thing I know it is that I have been wrong before and will be again before I retire.
Hopefully the VP of Express Ops from Airways will show up at contract talks soon cause that is when the new CBA will get done and you can take that to the bank.

And why would you come to PSA?
Worst reserve contract in the industry
And even if we did have a decent contract the company wouldn't comply with it.
Each week spend 2 hours checking your pay.
Going downhill here fast.

Do not know if you noticed but Pinnacolaba is going downhill fast too with likely furloughs. Why not go somewhere with a home base?
