CLT when hiring picks up?
Finally, on the FO side in the last bid everyone that wanted CLT got it (effective August), some had been waiting a year. While a couple of new hires in training from May didnt get CLT, we just had a class of 9 new hires start last week and once that bid goes out, I'd bet the new hires that wanted CLT will get it and they aren't even on IOE yet. Now whether that trend continues, no one knows.... But at least we are caught up on "CLT debt" on the FO side as far as active pilots go. Holding a line in CLT still takes longest, unless upgrades and attrition pick up substantially.

How long after you initially applied did it take to get contacted? I applied back in March and still have yet to hear anything back.

Interviewing on Friday, sent in resume about 4 weeks ago...though, I doubt that is indicative of anything.

Less than a month.

Update: I finally got a reply by using a different e-mail account. For some reason their spam blocker wasn't letting my messages thru. Of course, now it'll be August before I can interview, but that's fine with me.

How many are in each class? Are they getting enough applicants?

I heard they apparently want 10-12 for the July class but only have 6 accept the class so far. I heard this from someone in the training department but not sure how good the info is.

They wanted 11 for the June class and got 9 and they want 12 for the July class and said they've almost called everyone in the pool (around 50 or so people.) Thats straight from talking to HR.

I appreciate all the info, I am really thinking of trying to move over to PSA. I have a two leg commute now for the company I am with and I commute from Dayton. Every time I walk past the PSA office on my way to the terminal, I just want to walk in the front door and ask for a job.

Unless you're close to upgrading at your current place, I would switch in a heartbeat! Not the best regional but it pays the bills and 95% good bunch of people to fly with.

In regards to the PSA/US Air "preferred interview," will less than one year of employment at PSA undermine my ability to apply (or interview) at US Air as "just a guy off the street who happens to work at PSA?"

I'd like to work at PSA unless it removes me from consideration at US Air for 12 months.
