I disagree. The only fair way is Relative seniority.

So if we merge with go jet, you don't mind letting hundreds of guys and gals ahead of you in seniority that were hired years after you...

Or do you want to pick and choose on what type of seniority integration depending on who we merge with?

Thank you BSOuthisplace for the heads up on the CEL.

That CEL would be murder for PSA guys if we merged by DOH. 2006/2007 hires (most are senior FO's or captains now) would be just barely in the mid 600's out of 900 on the CEL....heck, our #1 is only #20.

If we merge, I think it would include new/more airframes. As far as fences go, maybe for a little while but the Dash 8's won't last more than a few years. Hopefully there will be enough new jets that not only Captains keep their seats, but allow for ample upgrade opportunities for senior FO's. Everyone is so fixated on this being a bad thing. We could be surprised.

Should a junior FO at airline A be senior to a senior CA at airline B? Like I said, relative is the only fair way.

Yes. In my scenario they should be stapled to the bottom and furloughed.

If they have more years with the company, yes.

These jets will come at the expense of another pilot group... either mainline or regional.

Yeah. I hope it all works out for everybody. I don't want to fly a plane that was taken away from another pilot group.

Exactly the mentality that makes me hope we never merge. Some dash fo thinks he's entitled to left seat in an rj. Why? Not to worry though. Managment has been very clear that they looked at merging the two and it does not create enough synergies. PDT will stay independent as will psa.
