Is PSA having trouble getting applicants? If so, merging the two and retiring much of the Dash fleet as they time out or go off-lease puts a huge dent in staffing the wholly owned jet operation. In the meantime it serves to increase staffing in the Dashes which sounds like it's miserable at the moment.

Who in their right mind would go to work at Piedmont at the moment? No movement.

As of right now we're able to fill the classes. But the pool of applicants is getting thinner and thinner. We have 2 classes of 8 next month. One is already filled and the other is almost full.

I hope we don't merge either. I'd hate to fly with a tool like you. I have no burning desire to fly an RJ anyways.

And btw our upgrades are around mid 07 hire date, I think PSA is pretty similar.

you're over qaulified for an rj anyways. I mean you are actually able to fly the dash! You're not just a button pusher like us, but a real pilot. If you don't fly the dash, it will get parked because there is no way someone else could be trained on that thing. Luckly, you were hired at PDT and not the rj type guy.
Btw, anyone who says tool is a moron.

Yea man. You guys at PSA could never fly the dash. Way too complicated and you actually have to hand fly, and most of the planes don't have a moving map so you probably wouldn't know where you were. Trying not to brag, but PDT is pretty much the TOP GUN of the airlines and you gotta be hot sh&$ to fly here. Flying jets is a piece of cake. What? do you just press a couple buttons, fall asleep, and wake up for landing? Easy.

RJ tools aren't welcome at PDT! Ah, there I go saying tool again! I'm such a moron.

In all seriousness though, all I was advocating was DOH and you disagreed. No need to bring your sense of superiority into the conversation because you fly a jet. We are all professional pilots that work for a wholly owned carrier of US Airways. I just think that your years of service should count for something. We have guys that have dedicated over 30 years of their life for this airline and its predecessors and I think that should be considered in a merger if it were ever to occur (probably won't but who know).

Ah hell, let's just go with relative seniority, because that will benefit me personally, and in the end that's all that matters. Right, Fulltank?

Seriously I would be so lost if you put me in a dash. And we hand fly all the time!! Up til 600ft agl on take off and from 100ft agl on landing!! Shooooot... And what son!

Arguments can be made both ways. But we already have a combined list available. So I don't know what's the point of arguing.
