If you think Piedmont has more than 5 years left, I've got a bridge for sale. Darth Parker is doing his best to follow the Delta model. In 5 years both PSA and PDT will be gone. The Dashes will be timed out and turned into Bud Light cans. The 50s at PSA will get parked while the 70s go to GoJet.
Sorry guys, but when the whipsaw stops someone gets cut.

Eagle will get cut slowly as the ERJs go away, but the 70s won't go to PSA. The regional model only works when pilots make McDonalds pay or lower. You will start seeing new carriers pop up and older ones die out so there are never really any senior guys. Keep everyone on year 1 to 8 pay and it never gets out of control. Mainline retains ownership of the aircraft and moves them at will. Delta has already been doing it. USAA is about to do the same, but probably more aggressively.

I agree PDT will be gone but as others have said I think between PSA and Eagle it's a real toss up who will be the surviving wholly owned, and how it happens be it merging or cutting, what have you. I think there's more to PDT VP of Ops coming to PSA then meets the eye. Plus, the Dayton training center is opening it's new renovated downstairs, we have route coordinators from TYS moving to DAY (after YEARS of being in TYS. That's pretty much the only reason we have a TYS base) so with so many moves happening that clearly aren't consolidating....don't write PSA off so soon.
I still think Parker is going to be looking at the regionals with a serious cost saving / cutting eye.
As far as Scrobola, I never thought he was too bad. He's a fairly reasonable guy but you have to be able to make a case and sell the idea. This coming from a non line-pilot standpoint. I had a little more interaction with management than a line pilot would.
