Who is this guy, JT8D? You call us sell outs and backstabbers? Open your eyes and read carefully.....Your pilot group AGREED to concessions while aa had BILLIONS in the bank AND was MAKING profits! Are you an amateurs or just stupid? All these airlines filed bankruptcy with billions in the bank just to grab concessions from the work groups and you guys fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Stupid. That was under AA mngmnt, Eagle had no clue how to handle US mngmnt, who runs the show now. Now look what happened compass flies your planes now, republic invading your miami base, Mesa moving into your Dallas fortress. Amatuer. PSA knows all to well about this team hence why we are flying the pretty new jets kicking Mesa out of charlotte.
So JT8D, vacate the PSA threads and take your stupidity with you
So JT8D, vacate the PSA threads and take your stupidity with you
So your way of dealing with this management team is to capitulate and do as they tell you. I see.
Coward.

They are standing up to a corporation that came for concessions under the agreement that they wouldn't ask again...and they did. They are standing up for the profession and are risking their own careers hoping the rest of us do the same. Either they give us much better contracts, flow throughs, and a future, or you get nothing. Then they went to PSA. They offered the same contract and you signed it while giving them the finger. The regional airlines are all going to be in a lot of trouble in the near future. If all the regionals are too expensive majors take flying back and we all win. Or just you could win.

In the current environment, I would only consider a contract that contained material improvements in all areas AND served to further the industry-wide goal of stopping the whipsaw. I would not agree to anything that my coworkers at other regionals would then be pressured to match or beat...

To the original thread poster, I'm sure you've already made your decision, but I think Gojets would probably be the better choice at this point. The original group of Gojetters sold out their brothers and sisters at TSA, but for the most part, their gone. The stigma will always be there, unfortunately.
On the other hand, we have lovely PSA, who sold out each and everyone of us and stabbed us all in the backs on the way, just so they could get some shiny new jets. They're spineless I can't wait for the chance to deny one a jumpseat. To the 40% at PSA who voted no, we apologize that you're clumped in with the rest of the spineless weasels making up the 60%.
So...go to Gojets.

Ideally I would agree with you... However that's not called negotiations. That's called demands and let's face it, regionals don't have any leverage. Especially the wholly owned. Despite the latest pay caps PSA took, our negotiations did a hell of a job on our contract. They took full advantage of the merger as they knew AA and Airways will not finalize their merger without a detailed cost prediction at PSA and PDT. So yeah they gave us SAP and few other loop holes that would've never passed in other regional's negotiations as proven by the latest TAs that were offered to republic, compass, xjt, silver or eagle. Our leverage was that AA will save billions the earlier they merge. And taking a loss on our negotiations is like a fart in the wind compared to their overall costs. But they've outsmarted us as always by coming back RIGHT after the merger trying to threaten to shut us down if we don't take the pay caps. It wasn't an empty threat as illustrated by the recent events at eagle. I guess only time will tell.

If regionals have no leverage, why has the company come back to us four times already after claiming at each stage that they would not return? Why did Glass walk into the room the other day and ask our negotiators what it would take to make a deal? Your heads are buried in the sand...
