Its funny that some of you think you have just discovered some new threat to the industry and use PSA as your main example but I guess you guys haven't been around long enough to remember the not too distant past.

Anyone here employed at a regional back in 2006/2007? Upgrades were crazy low at a lot of places like CHQ/XJT/SKW. I have a buddy that upgraded at XJT with barely over 1500 total time and only 22 months on property and then flew around with 500 hr first officers for the next couple of years before the 08 recession hit. If you go back even further the late 90s was even worse, guys were holding captain before even finishing ground school as an FO at some commuters.

I just find it ironic that we now have a minimum of 1500 hours and an ATP to be a 121 FO and a minimum of 1000 SIC to bid for upgrade and you are all predicting smoking holes in the ground when the situation was much worse not too long ago. It pays to have a little perspective when discussing these issues to avoid looking foolish.

And what happened at the pinnacle of all that low time hiring? A smoking hole in the ground?

Have there ever been smoking holes in the ground back the 2000s, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s, 1960s, 1950s, 1940s or 1930s?

The trend is that airlines get safer as time goes on but there will always be airplanes crashes. Predicting a smoking hole in the ground is like saying it is eventually going to rain and when it does you will be telling everyone how right you were all along.

My point is that if you are so worried about PSA why weren't you more worried about COEX back in 1998 or SkyWest back in 2006?

Perhaps direct your worry more towards car wrecks since those happen in much greater numbers than regional airplane crashes or just go about life worrying about minute possibilities.

You like to use that word a lot. I came in here and made some logical observations. You responded out of context to what I wrote, became accusatory and played "know-it-all". Now you are upset that I disagree with your out of context post and are escalating to a junior high level.

I'm not upset at all. If anything, I feel bad for you since you find the need to come back to this thread again and again. Anyone who wants to know your hidden agenda in your most recent "concern", can go back a few pages and find your true agenda.
