(6) Not more than 100 hours of the total aeronautical experience requirements of
paragraph (a) of this section or §61.160 may be obtained in a full flight simulator or flight
training device provided the device represents an airplane and the aeronautical experience
was accomplished as part of an approved training course in parts 121, 135, 141, or 142 of this chapter.
It all counts lol

I don't have a dog in this fight, and was posting based on a letter of interpretation from the FAA. I am not an expert. If you believe that you have the legal experience, then talk to someone at the airline.

I wish there was something missing, I left so confused. Great interview, did well, she told me "Congrats you got the job, but you need to go into the pool until you have ATP mins." She then went on to say "it's a PSA policy to not count sim time." I politely asked for her to reconsider since I have prior 121 time and a clean record. She told me no, and basically said "I would do much better in training and have a much higher chance of being successful by gaining the additional flight hours." I thought that was a bold statement since she doesn't even no me. She then told me once again that I would be placed in a pilot "pool" and then even went on to say that being "in the pool is a good thing." She ended with that "I would be hearing from them within the next few days and from that point forward I was to inform them when I reach 1450 total time and they would give me a class date." It was the most vague and confusing ending to any job interview I have ever had. That was last Wednesday, still haven't heard anything as of today.

In the end I left disappointed for sure. Why fly me to Charlotte and waste an interview spot if they knew upfront I did not have enough hours to get a class date? And why not just give me a class date out in the future, say a month or two? Why reiterate over and over "I got the job" but then just put me in some vague "pool" to which I still haven't heard anything about?

Thanks everyone for all the help and advise. I was really impressed by how nice and friendly and how professional everyone I met at PSA was. Riding on a brand new CRJ 900 was great too, never been in a plane that smelled like a new car before. Hopefully it all works out, I'll let ya know if I ever hear anything.

Not trying to nitpick, but... Is all your sim/FTD time endorsed? If my memory serves me right, all sim/FTD time to be used for anything need to be endorsed by a CFI.
Also, I'm pretty sure ATP's CRJ200 course is not 141/142/121
