Have a friend that just interviewed yesterday. He told me seven were supposed to show three showed up two failed the written. It is true that PSA has now changed the written exam and are going to continue changing it to keep everyone off balance. He said there were questions about Raim, what prevents a turbojet from having compressor stalls sensitivity of the glideslope receiver when must circling minimums be published and a few other questions almost half the written was changed he also said they no longer tell you if you got the job or not you get some sort of notification in two weeks. Hopefully he will get on here and tell you guys and gals what his experience was.

It shouldn't matter how easy or difficult the written exam is. If you don't have the base knowledge, you will not pass training.

It may be, but in my opinion, the interview actually lasts about 3 months (and really a full year when you are on probation). You are constantly evaluated throughout your training with the company. If you have a clean record, a good attitude, and have a commercial certificate with your ATP written finished, you should have a good chance of getting hired. All of the games and tricks that some of the other airlines play are just plain silly and do not belong.

Good point. I'm not too sure if there will be an increased number in SSP soon since PSA needs everyone to stay to staff the airplanes. Getting all these airplanes looks like it may hurt people looking to flow over to AA soon.

They really have their choice as to what they would rather have, more senior people leaving, or fewer new hires coming in the door.

If the SSP increases (as it is supposed to) to at least 10% of the pilot base next month, I think that the full classes at PSA will continue for at least the next 6 months. If, however, it does not increase, the incoming people would dry up quicker. The movement to mainline is a big marketing tool that can really help attract new pilots.
