The Useful PSA Thread

2 big changes though, whether related or not:
1. Gouges for PSA are now useless as of first week of March.
2. 2 week wait to find out if you got hired.
From my understanding, if you pass the written and don't scare the interview panel with something you said, the job is yours.

I don't think that the new test is "tricky". It is just different ATP written questions, from what I understand. It is stuff that you should know by this point in your career.
Asfar as people washing out during training, it is pretty uncommon. There are usually 1 or 2 per class, and they truly deserve it.

People failing has been covered time and time again in this thread. The failure rate is pretty low, and anyone that try hard and has the ability will pass. Those that slack off, or simply do not have the ability to do the job will fail. The failure rate is pretty low. The overall rate of people making it to the line is ~82%. The 18% dropout rate includes people quitting for many reasons other than failing out.

You have already been proven to be a liar. Why are you still here?

I feel that you would almost have to try to fail, or simply never study. They really do a good job of guiding new guys through the whole process from indoc to oral. Sims are a different animal, but the same rules apply. Study, practice with your partner, and remember your limitations. My class had 1 guy fail his oral. And I'm pretty sure they retrained him and he passed the 2nd time.

You will do fine. The training program is designed to bring 500 hour CFI's on board and teach them to fly a CRJ. The instructors are good, and they want you to succeed. There are no games or tricks. If you have issues, they will spend more time with you, as long as your attitude is good and you are progressing.

You can definitely succeed if you work hard, take advantage of the IPTs, I think they're very valuable for people with no previous 121 time. There was a few former military helo guys in my class. Let me know if you have any questions.

Except they did no such thing. The only mention of a test in the interview e-mail is "a general aviation test". They don't mention nor suggest the study material - but then again, I'd hope that whomever gets confused about that would just hit reply and ask questions.
