You realize a LIDO is in a nearly identical format as most other charts right? They are used by pilots. If you can't read a FAA/JEPP/LIDO chart, well...
If you can't tell me the frequency of a GPS satellite or whatever nonsense that question asked, that's a whole different story.

You've obviously never seen a LIDO chart.

I also thought that was ridiculous. We have a good group of guys in the hiring/recruiting department. Don't know why they would bust out a LIDO chart on someone in an interview. I'm sure it wasn't held against the person if they didn't know the answer though.

The real question they are asking is, can this guy find, learn, and retain the info long enough to pass training?
They all know the gouge is out there. Hell they probably even put it out themselves.
Most mainline interviews are conceptual, which I find is a better tool to screen applicants. However most commuters have always had this nit-picky attitude from the top down, not sure where it came from, but that is the culture.
Cooperate, graduate, GTFO.

I do not believe this is correct. WAAS do not have RAIM, since WAAS uses GEO satellite to send signal ( I believe there is one or two only). RAIM is used by old fashioned GPS and makes sure that the signal from the Satellite is not corrupted. So, it uses t least 5 or 4 plus a barometric altimeter. When the corrupted satellite is to be removed, RAIM requires 6 SATs. 6-1 bad one.

I liked Lidos.....especially the airport charts. When I got accustomed to them I found that they provide quite a bit of useful information. But I can also get everything I need from a National Aeronautical Charting Office plate.

Maybe PSA just met their quota for pilots needed vs airplanes on property for a while and they just don't need the 70 pilots per month anymore?

Your buddy must be well connected then, or got in because you referred him and they gave him preferential hiring. That's 60% pass.
