Maybe 8 months from hire date but 2-3 months max of actually sitting reserve. I could be wrong but I don't think any new hire in awhile has been awarded CLT right out of training. 8-10 months from hire date and you can hold CLT CA but you'd be on reserve for 1.5+ years.

Why is the reserve time so long for CA's, yet so short for FO's? Is it because the FO side has more attrition?
If you don't want to ever sit reserve, could you bid DAY or TYS and be based out of any of those two with 0 time on reserve and in the meantime put a bid for CLT and move base once the slot opens up for you?

The only thing good about PSA right now is that the Asst. CP is now just a regular line pilot. And he is junior to me.
As for commuting, I would say move in base. It really sucks having to give up days off to get to/from work. Especially if you live in one base and have to commute to another, while waiting for a transfer. TYS and DAY have a lot of must ride reserves that show up last minute. And if the flight is already full, that means revenue passengers are getting bumped. And that makes the next flight that had a few open seats full.
The hotels are going from bad to worse. Since this new contractor took over we have had a lot of hotel changes. Most from nice to down right ghetto. What people need to do is stop just complaining about the hotels, and fill out the hotel complaint forms. Nothing can/will be done without the forms being filled out.

I sat reserve in CLT maybe a total of 4 months when I upgraded. I've been holding round 1 for the last three months.

Reserve time is long for captain's because not every captain that's upgrading has been here 8 months. The average upgrade time is closer to 2 years. All the one year Captains in CLT will be the whipping sticks for at least a year or two while FOs senior to them upgrade. There's almost no attrition on the captain side in CLT, maybe two guys at most leaving per month and the growth will be done in a month or two.

PSA Airlines | PSA Airline's Fleet Growth Schedule- Updated | February 26, 2015
In training, they told us the goal is to average 10.5 pilots per airplane. Ergo a 150 airframe fleet would put us at 1,575 pilots which is going to take longer than another month or two to achieve.
If you were referring only to the growth in the number of CLT CA's continuing for another month or two, what makes you think that?
