They could also announce the planned size so employees could calculate the possible effects on them and plan accordingly. Its only a "good" thing for some.
Displaced? Last I heard we were adding 3 a month.

Make sure to check facebook. That's where PSA chooses to put its news out first.

Well, you just being out of your teens ( I think ), you should appreciate a company that has embraced social media....... I have flown with so many wet behind the ears pups that just got their first job that have an opinion on everything with no experience to base it on. Makes me laugh every day.

The more and more I read on here it seems like all you old dogs would rather the industry stay in the "Lost Decade" so you don't have to fly with the new guys. Everybody was new at one point or the other. Did you guys forget that? And wether their opinions are right or wrong at least they have one. Would rather see guys thinking for themselves and trying to sort stuff out rather than just following blindly into the night. New pilots = movement and/or growth, we should all be tickled pink to fly with the new guy. It is a sign of better things to come.

We do not allow former PSA turned mainline pilots on our flights anyways

From someone born in the 70s: These guys are just old and bitter because the stars didn't align for them. Their careers stalled and they want everyone else to have it "as hard as they did." I tell them life isn't fair. Move on.

Thats the exact impression I get.

When our DO spoke to my upgrade class he was baffled as to why we would want a flow, or expect it. His words were "When I was at brand x we didn't have a flow (1988) so why do you think you deserve one?"
Followed up with "this generation is too entitled"

It's sad that the old timers can't realize that things are a changin' I try to cut them some slack because I know change is hard for old people.

Social media is not as much an issue as people being stupid about posting stupid stuff on it. For the love of Pete if you are going to post pics of you flying, do not post it so the entire world can see it. There is a little thing called privacy on most sites. Try using it. Just ask a few dumbasses from PSA about it.

That's why we can't use printers or LPV approaches. "Because, back in 1988 we didn't have that stuff."

BTW, PSA did have a flow through. That was before it was called PSA, even before it was called Jetstream International when owned by the legacy Piedmont. The flow through went away when Piedmont merged with US Air.
