FO reserve is very slow. I will never understand why the company doesn't make reserve more appealing so it goes senior. Let the new people fly, they want to. Or, pay for some hotels so the new, poor pilots can afford it. Crash pads aren't the answer. Living in base ain't happenin', not with regional airline instability. Psa first year pay, second year pay and so on, needs a lift. No one is coming here unless things change.

At least 2 are coming in Feb. (its scheduled on Flica with the crew going to pick them up) The pilot news network said that no deliveries in Jan due to holidays or some crap.
I am barely getting used as a CLT FO RSV. Even over the holidays it wasn't that bad and if I recall correctly December had the lowest number pilots in round 2 for the year. Even with the 30 build up lines due to guys taking the holidays off scheduling claimed they didn't have any real trouble and the worst day was Jan 1 as far as reserve levels go, and apparently even that wasn't a big deal because I got assigned a republic route out of DCA. (That is what i was told it was at least)

Id be suspicious that they are monitoring everyone's flight time from the form they would have had to fill out when the we're hired, and are only upgrading when they see they have as many as the want.

I don't think the company is understaffed at the moment, probably will be in the future though. I've noticed the seniority list steady at 1200 for over six months, recent class sizes of 5 and delayed deliveries might indicate the growth is over. The seniority list is probably fat enough to add another 6 or so planes and after that 700/900s can probably only be added as 200 replacements without real growth well above 1200 from the seniority list.

You're probably right. It was interesting how the last captain award came out with six slots and every slot went to guys with 2+ years seniority.

I think some of you guys are paranoid. The company plans to take on some 70 lines worth of flying out of Chicago in the Spring and they want to staff it with 200's. Put 2 and 2 together I think we know where the next base is ending up. Making more efficient schedules will help a lot with staffing issues. American will have no problem influencing our management to fix that problem when the time comes.
