He sure talks a lot for being a long time listener doesn't he. How's about listening to people who actually work for the company when getting your facts.

Given recent compensation announcements, class sizes, and increased upgrade classes, the company is anticipating more 700s arriving the early part of next year.

Easy enough that I could explain it to my 8 year old nephew. If you can't get it, or just want to play court jester on the internet, that's not my problem. The hiring will continue (and perhaps pay continue to rise) despite whatever you think about it.
Then why were you all trumpeting the transfers back during the summer when you supposedly didn't have the ability, and the retention programs hadn't been announced yet? You were doing it because it was a great sound bite even though there was little to back it up. Not to different from what you're doing now. It's just a different sound bite now, but the purpose is the same: Buy yourselves some time in hopes that it all becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

The trouble isn't the reading. It's understanding why the talking points and "reasoning" are changing from day to day. It's a constant flood of double speak to make everything sound like it's ponies and rainbows for everyone.

The company's position has always been "if we can staff it, the airplanes will come."

My position has always been "if we can staff it, the airplanes will come."

Until recently, the company has been a little delusional about what it would take to accomplish that, and I've personally said that to Doug Parker twice, as well as PSA's CEO.

Just because you think something happened one way, or you reserving the right to be butt hurt about it, doesn't change any of the above realities.

Just as TallFlyer said, because that is what the company was telling everyone their goal was. They just weren't making the airline attractive enough to new hires to make their goal a reality. And we still grew by almost 20 airframes in 2016 despite this. Now they are paying what the market demands for a regional FO and they are filling classes. So American Airlines Group and PSA's stated goal of continuing the transfer of the 700s will be realized as long as we can keep attracting pilots and filling classes. Which everything points towards this being a reality. So I'm not really sure what your whole aim was with all the pot-stirring you've done on here...

I think part of it is that someone is unhappy (for whatever reason) and thus wants everyone else to suffer as well and is frustrated because the attempts appear to be unsuccessful...
