FWIW, our 12/19 FO class had all 5 bases for our initial bid. Many were awarded DCA. (We had people awarded each base, so anything is possible.)

Also, We're all wrapping up our oral exams this week, for those who'd be curious of training time. No delays for sims, rolling right into starting Sunday & Monday.

DAY training center was so crowded the last week, with three classes in place, good luck finding an open restroom!
And in CLT it was hard to find a room to use between orals and interviews...
It's a hoppin' place!

 

R1= round one. first to bid and able to use SAP
BU= Build up. round two. lines built from what's left after R1 & SAP.
LCR= 12 hrs
SCR= 2 hrs (1hr in TYS)

 

Any psa guys know if cut above uniform shirts are allowance reimbursable and what about a 150 dollar pair of ecco shoes or any nice dress shoe for that matter...

 

Shoes are not covered by uniform allowance. The shirts will be covered.

 

So for a new hire, how soon until the flight benefit is available?

 

On PSA metal as soon as you have an employee badge which I here is about 2 weeks these days. For spouse, parents, kids, etc I think it's 6 months.

I'm not sure how long it takes to get loaded in CASS.

 

PSA metal (cabin or jumpseat) once given ID.

Full AA benefits after about 20 days on property for all listed persons.

CASS after CRJ700/900 PC (along with KCM).

myIDtravel/ID90 after 6 months and 1 day on property.

 

You and your family will have full flight benefits on AA about your second week of training. Many people in my class had their wives/kids or other people fly to Dayton and spend the weekend during training while using their flight benefits.

You can jumpseat on PSA airplanes as soon as you have an ID, but you are responsible for getting yourself back to class.

 

This is a great thing! It is exciting to be somewhere with movement like this.

Right now, we have many pilots leaving each month to go to mainline carriers outside of the flow. I am going to say (conservatively) that we are losing a couple dozen a month, sometimes more. At first, almost all of these people will be above you and you will start moving up the list quickly.

In addition, new hire classes right now are bringing in about 70 in January, and expected to bring in a little over 50 in February. (We had 3 classes in January).

If you are hired now and enter training, you will finish training 12 weeks later and will have moved up the list 50-75 spots on the seniority list, and will have had 5 classes of 25 each start class behind you.

This is what we were experiencing in 2014 and it was amazing to watch. It is good to see that it is happening again.

 

Do we know good numbers for how many classes are scheduled to be filled as of today? when is the last known scheduled filled class date? Are the numbers still showing alot of applicants/interviewees?
