All of the above advice about Study Habits is EXCELLENT advice. The Students that live close enough and go home on weekends really struggle and in about half of those cases, never get through the Training in DAY. Those that try to run another business on the side while in Training struggle as well.

Best advice: Make a commitment to yourself for 3 months that will effect the rest of your career. Work hard, study hard, work as a group and with your partner. aka Cooperate and Graduate. Take advantage of the things that the Training Center has to offer on weekends and evenings. No one is here to fail you. But YOU have to put forth the effort on your side.

Thanks, that was pretty much my plan was to just stay in place and study my butt off. I'll gladly take any extra sim sessions.

I was wondering how long training and what the typical schedule was like because I was trying to figure out how heavy to pack. Speaking of that say I load up the two allowed bags to the max. After ground do I go straight to IOE ? or does it just depend ? and again asking because what do I do with my second bag in that case ? stash it at a crash pad ? lastly - I don't know how any of this actually works but I'm guessing based on little bits I read here and there that there is a pilots closet where I can put my standard airline size bag in ?

thank ya'll

After ground school in Dayton, you will have a few days off before sims. Then, you will have some time off before IOE.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You will get time to go home. There are laundry facilities at the hotel, or catch the van to a laundry mat.

We keep our bags in the overhead on flights when we are working.

I did my laundry every weekend... typically I went to the laundromat because it was faster and I didn't have to fight over the washing machines. Great place to study as well.

Don't forget to have fun and stay sane -- run, lift, or whatever it is you do to stay sane. A beer or three during study doesn't hurt either.

Have fun and welcome aboard.
