Default Interview Prep

Hi guys!

Finally nailed down an interview date! I've flipped back about 50 pages and wanted to know if there are any updated study tips or interview gouges from the last few weeks? Nov 8th interviewee hoping for CLT eventually, coming off active duty Army flying C12's. Any help would be much appreciated!

Aviationinterviews.com

The gouge is fairly accurate.

We lost 28 last month, and I believe that I moved up 14 spots.

The average new hire in 2014 was an 8 year FO previously. Those pilots are leaving in droves right now.
Thats exactly my point. In just two years, you have gone from every pilot leaving each month being senior to you, down to now half of them senior to you.
Continue that trend forward another two years. Now you're at 7. And that is assuming that it's a linear trend. As pilots approach flowing, they tend to stay put. You quickly get to a point where the only attrition senior to you are the flow throughs.

My point was that we are losing pilots that are only 2-3 years from flow. People are not waiting for AA. They are still going to job fairs and getting hired elsewhere.

If the last year before flow, most will just hold out for AA. That is obvious. That is the problem with anywhere with a flow. I have moved up about twice what I was expecting to this point.

Most who I've talked to who are 3 years or so from flowing and don't care which particular legacy they go to seem to be holding out for the flow. The vast majority of the other pilots here are either actively looking or at least willing to leave and aren't waiting on the flow. We lose more senior(ish) CAs to outside attrition than we do to the flow and I would expect that trend to increase.

So what is flow projected to be for a new hire? The last PSA recruiter I talked to said "honestly, 8 years". That was two months ago.
PDT says theirs is 4-5 years using added attrition and Envoy says theirs is 5.5 - 6 using 0 added attrition.

All a guess; my guess is that AA will level the flows between all of the WO. If you are down to choosing between the WO my advise would be to minimize your commute pain and/or choose based on the base. AA has already demonstrated that what is good for one is good for all and they are trying to keep us level. If past behavior is indicative of future performance...

We'll be stapled to the list 8 years from now.

There will be over 40,000 pilots hired by the majors and lcc's in the next 8 years. If any current pilot is still at a regional in more than 5 years, it is their own fault.

If you have a degree, a clean record, and put forth some effort, you will be able to move on.

In the last few months, PSA has been sending as many pilots to Delta as we are to AA.

A class date at DAL, FDX, UA superceeds a flow promise up to the last year or so. With regard to flow estimates, outside attrition is grossly underestimated in my opinion. Especially when looking at the next decade's hiring forecasts.
