It is likely just another rumor, but with them taking a SIM out of CVG, and CVG having more instructors based there than needed, it kind of makes sense.

CVG was supposed to grow to be a large base, but it has not. It could close next month and the flying would all be easily moved to other bases.

The old 200 sim has been out of CVG for a few months now. CLT is currently running with 1 200 and 2 900 sims.

But this would require management admitting they were wrong about something.

I think BNA would be a good fit. Why do you ask? Well the city has much potential. It has major sports leagues, a growing population, not much deicing in the winter, The area is very affordable to live in, and most of all it would benefit me. BNA was an American hub back in the day so why not PSA. The Nashville area is also polluted with many pilots and it has a top aviation university in the area that would go well with recruiting. I'm truly considering rolling the dice on this one. Even if BNA isn't in the running I can make that 2 hour drive to TYS. For me it beats commuting back and fourth from DFW or ORD for 6-7 years just for an upgrade. In the next few weeks my life will be changing instantly based on my decision.

Cvg is a maintance base, it has value and the market is growing with Delta closing the crew base this fall. If anything Tys will be the first base to go. That would delay everyone's flow timeline though because I'm sure a lot of those senior Tys guys would rather flow to American if they're going to have to commute to Clt anyways.

CVG would close before TYS. But either way, the company would have to shell out a lot of money if they close a base and people move.

I do agree if TYS closes it'll throw wrenches in many people's plans, in particular all the senior Capts and LCA who live in TYS.

That said, as anyone who is senior in TYS will tell you, people have been predicting the demise of TYS ever since it opened.

Believe it when you see it.

I agree.

Although I am not with PSA, I have met a few in the TYS area. If PSA closes TYS, I feel there will be a mass exodus of former TYS crew.

Those in TYS, love TYS.

Just my .02 of course. I could be wrong. My sample data is very limited.
