Seniority was moving at every Regional. Did not need flow for that, almost everywhere in 2019 you could upgrade as soon as you met the mins. Going back to my original post, the negative of flow is having to accept lower pay and QOL at most WOs because of it. Management was just not willing to make big contract gains because they considered Flow a big part of your compensation. Unfortunately you are paying for that compromise now.
If you want to go rain on someone’s parade, go rain on the regionals that “had to accept” low pay and QOL without a flow.
“We’re paying for that compromise now”? How many non-WO folks are going to mainline right now? Every regional is hurting right now, the WOs are in the same boat as everyone else.

The WOs are still paid better than most non-WOs and have better QOL. And a flow!

Could there have been job losses, loss of aircraft etc because an offer was turned down? Sure, there could have been, but in the long term what did it save given our current state of affairs?

I'm not saying no ones goes elsewhere. I'm saying fewer. Far fewer. And that means less internal recs elsewhere. I was taking issue with the notion your chances are the same as someone from a non-WO, not that you can't. I see replies saying "you can still do it"... well yeah, but that doesn't dispute what I'm saying either.
I def see your point and agree with you. I’m only saying you can network beyond friends at AA, it’s all about how bad you want it.

Define "had to accept"? Some would argue the WO's and Non-WO's would be in a far better place right now had some regionals rejected the supposed "had to accept" deals of the past. I am NOT trying to start that argument up as it has been long talked about and nothing new could really be said, but I don't think there is anything that is a "had to accept" condition.

I was just replying to a post earlier that accused the WOs of “having to accept” pay and QOL shortfalls in order to have a flow. That’s just not true.

Even with a few years delay with COVID-19, it is still much better that the Envoy CAs waiting 25 years for the call. That was earlier in the decade.

I mean, I get it. You needed to hustle hard to keep people coming in underneath you in order to keep the scam going. I don't fault you for that.

Thousands of pilots took early retirements and many younger pilots that lost jobs have moved on never to return. If the flying public comes back in spring/summer of 2021 the tight market in 2018/19 will be a piece of cake compared to the need when numbers return to pre covid levels. It only took 3 years for new passenger records after 9/11.
