It’s not that anyone quoted numbers that were impossible, just improbable

Dat flow in their "back pocket" is going to start feeling pretty lumpy every time they sit down knowing it is never going to come and it was all lies to get them to come in to work for subpar pay and QOL..

The ride for me at PSA has been great. We’ll see if we survive the next 6-12 months lol. Ask me again then.

How’s the flow at SkyWest or Republic? The WOs take a lot of heat for having a flow when it’s not working out, but WO pilots have the same chance of hopping on at UA or DL as any other regional.

And when flow actually is working, it does a great job of keeping the list moving. Oh yeah, and putting huge amounts of pilots at AA without an interview is cool too.

Let’s all go say “THKooj” three times into a mirror and see if he appears in this thread...

I'm going to take issue with this statement. You either have never worked for a WO or you want to work at AA so bad you're not considering other options.

The problem is everyone here has flow to AA on the brain. So the only guys you work with go to AA. So you're really only networking with guys that are going to AA. So you don't really get to network with guys that go to UA or DL or wherever. So you don't get the same kind of internal recs at UA or DL that guys at other regionals would.

Yeah, there are some that diverge from the flow. But not enough.

Still doesn’t dispute the fact that they have the same chance. Only that they may not take the same opportunities to network and get on at another carrier. That’s the individuals fault

You are missing the point of what I was trying to convey. Because everyone else is simply flowing to AA, the individual that wants another path is limited because he's not able to network as effectively for places other than AA. So that individual does NOT have the same chance for places other than AA.

If you're having trouble understanding this, I'm guessing you don't work at a WO. I came to a WO because it was convenient for where I lived and really didn't give a rip about flow. But once here, it's frustrating. I don't think I've flown with a single pilot that's gone to UA or DL. I've flown with one that went to FedEx. A couple that went to Spirit. Everyone else I've kept up with is either still here or flowed to AA. That doesn't make for great networking to get out to somewhere other than AA.

I’ve got friends at UA, AA, DL, UPS, FDX. Yes, I know a lot more at AA than the others but I’ve networked beyond that. I think it’s safe to say most WO pilots know more than just AA pilots.

Flow is great until it’s not. I think it’s important to note a lot of folks got out before the flow to other carriers. Be like those folks, volunteer, continue education, get in the training department, and push to get a new job before the flow, because that flow date can disappear overnight.

I will add I could see pilots being in the position of only knowing AA pilots if they upgraded quickly and didn’t fly with many captains. You still have the opportunity to network outside of AA, it just takes effort.
