Any MSP Saab Fo's out there check their August PBS awards yet? I'm more than 50% up on the list in my seat. I asked for days off and weekends and I ended up with 11 off and not a single weekend!! With regular line bidding I can hold 15 and about 1/2 of the weekends. Just wondering if anyone else’s bid turned out this way or if I messed something up?
I asked for a few other smaller things as an experiment such as certain days off but I don't think that causes the problem since these requests weren't awarded

Scheduling just called me and tried to junior assign me for an overnight tonight. Can someone tell me why I'm being furloughed in a week when we don't have enough pilots and are forced to junior assign people?

Same thing happened the last time we furloughed. The Saab FO's were being called daily for JM's right up til the day they were furloughed. I sat unused on the Avro until the last week then I got called daily on my reserve days til I was furloughed. I'm guessing it's party from guys using up their sick time since it won't be paid out. Basically use it or lose it and that helps cause a shortage.

Also... reserve coverage is a fluid dynamic that changes daily and even multiple times a day. You can't look at it only from a fixed numbers vs. a/c perspective. In terms of numbers, yes, we're overstaffed. But when you break it down by fleet, base and seat, the numbers get jumbled up. Then when you further break it down by day, reserve period and who's available it gets even more jumbled. It's just not as simplistic as it may seem.
