From what I've put together - RA is saying park 100 CRJ50s from DCI, of which Comair will contribute 15 aircraft already scheduled for lease-return in 2010. He's also saying no CRJ50s on routes longer than x miles, and a 10% reduction in CVG flying, but no reduction in CVG mainline. Comair pulling some/all flights out of JFK, and some/all flights going back to CVG. So that's what he's saying if you believe all the rumors.

Comair operates very little out of CVG compared to 3 or 10 years ago. If Delta wants to cut CVG flying without touching mainline they have the following to pick from:

Comair
Mesaba
occasionally Compass
SkyWest
ASA
Freedom
Shuttle
Chowtaco
Pinnacle

Historically, a 10% reduction in CVG meant a 10% reduction to Comair. No longer the case. But Flycrj200 is right, we'll have to wait and see.

There is also a 12% chance Comair will be recalling in 2015.

The airline industry operates in a very dynamic environment. Things could change overnight. It is very difficult to predict what’s going to happen in the near future. Comair was on a mission to hire 300 pilots at one point, and the next month the decided to furlough. No one knows what 2010 will bring. The only sure thing about our industry is CHANGE.

Progress follows a pattern and I'm afraid the pattern is not in the favorable direction at Comair.

nothing new to update-update.
Since the union doesn't seem to update us any more, here is my update. Just got back from recurrent ground. CP TO came in and talked about an hour, mostly about flying safe and being professional during this difficult time. No body was asking much about the future/rumor of any kind. I think we know that he doesn't know much either. But he did say that those 15 planes are scheduled to be gone this comming year. Still no growth nor reduction is planned for next year. Other than that, no body else has any good/bad rumor to spread around either. You guys that are out there on street, be safe and good luck with what ever you are looking for.

Thanks for the post Golfer. Kind of you to think of updating us since we seem to be an after thought in the mind of some people. coughcoughunioncoughcough

In the words of Jimmy Buffett: "Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On"

There will not be any recalls at Comair for a long, looooooong time.

Everyone. Tommorow will be my last day at Comair (involuentary furloughed). I just want to say thank you to all the good captains for being good mentors and teachers.
