I know some guys on here get upset about anyone discussing second round recalls, but I still want to make a point. If only 57 end up going back that means they are looking to recall another 15 pilots. That said about 8 (if I remember right) people on VOLFURLOUGH decided to come back early. Those guys are forced to return to work in September anyways. Sooooo.... really when they stated they want 72 recalled. They really meant 88 pilots. So if my math works out (I am a little hungover) as of right now they need 31 pilots more than the 57 currently accepting recall. If you use the 30% decline recall rate then I expect they could eventually want to recall 41 more pilots by the end of the summer. (That assumes all those with letters still out decline a recall) Whew... the was too much math for me

Reading your post all at once made my head spin. If there will be more recalls, they will make an announcement, you are only going to drive yourself insane if you keep figuring out the odds or staring at the furlough list every day.

As far as commutes go from FL. Maybe picking CVG over DTW because of the competition on the Florida-DTW commutes might not be a bad move. Yes, there are less flights from FL to CVG, but you also have less commuters. Might be something to think about. If you can get Southwest to start DTW-MCO, that would definitely help a lot, they are great to commute on.

Thanks for reminding me, SWA does go MCO-DTW @ 4-5 times a day. Those are thru flights to various cities. Nothing direct, non-stop. I still think commuting from MCO to DTW is easier that to CVG. Lots of choices specially if you consider 2 legs commute. Tons of other possibilities.

Incorrect...unless every furloughed pilot junior to them has been recalled by September.

If every pilot junior had been recalled prior to September 1, then the voluntarily furloughed pilot would still have the ability to decline until that date.

After September 1st, if there are still junior pilots who haven't been recalled, the voluntarily furloughed pilot still may decline recall until such time as every pilot junior to him/her has been recalled.

Just for clarification.

I'm one of the unknowns that is declining. I just really don't want to pay to send them a letter telling them that.

Ok. I just assumed "exit date" for VOLFURLOUGH actually meant they would have to come back to work. By the time I figure out this whole contract I will be one of those 62 year old CRJ90 CA's! LOL

If all of that is true, then 7 X 13 = 28

I'm just curious...did you sign for the letter and now you are expecting that in 10 days this just tells Comair, "no thanks?" And I do understand not wanting to spend money on that!

That's how it works. If you don't respond within your 10 days, you'll automatically be removed from the seniority list.
