Delta president says merger won't hurt, may enhance Comair

HEBRON, Ky. (AP) - Delta Air Lines' president reassured local and state officials that the proposed merger with Northwest Airlines will not affect service at Delta's Cincinnati-area hub.
He also says it will not hurt regional subsidiary Comair.
Delta President Ed Bastian said at a news conference today at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Ky. that the merger will promote more international growth. He says it also could give greater opportunity for regional jet flying at Comair.
Bastian says that Delta will continue to have a relationship with Comair. But he says no decision has been made on whether Comair will remain a subsidiary or become a stand-alone company.

I refuse to live on the jersey turnpike in a rest stop again like ive done for the past year to make a 2 hour call....... off probation, eat my a$$ comair, im sitting rsv at home.... start finding some lines
ps u dorks who dont live in NYC need to go to CVG.... stop clogging up our base... u'd like it better there anyway

Wasn't there supposed to be some announcement a week or so after the net conference? I seem to remember reading somewhere it would be "in the next 5-10 days" or something. Seems like a bunch of us were waiting for word about the Freedom flying. Or was the merger the big announcement?
