Who knows if LGA counts toward the commuter clause for JFK?? For real and not just the rumor going around that it does. (Has anyone heard this from a reliable source I can bank on?)
P.S.S. I'm sure we will find out soon from the union and Comair but I'm just trying to make plans if anyone already commuting from there knows for sure!

it counts. i asked SB directly last spring during upgrade. but you have to allow additional time to get LGA-JFK. use common sense.

many former GSO pilots can only get to LGA (CHS guys, for example) and haven't had any trouble from the company.

but if you call in CO, save your boarding passes.

CO clause is basically (up until now) a non-issue if you're a lineholder. you'll find a way to get there if you want to get paid.

It does not..contract says your flights must be to your Domicile.

I used LGA 99.9% of the time out of ATL..and it works better (air tran is a savior as well)..but you are not covered by the CC.

Let me know when you get down here..we'll drink some beers!

BE CAREFUL..with what SB says....the company can probably roast you if they push it using "contract language"

I had to use LGA 95% of the time. From my town there were only 2 flights a day to JFK, and about 16 to LGA. I never got stranded but if I did and a CP really wanted to take an issue with it, I'd say at least I was trying to get to work. SB said get to work any way possible, and thats what I'm doing. I consider my base NYC is that case.

Whatever makes Comair happy(I know you're furloughed and by no means disrespect but commuting sucks a$$.)
Be better off moving to a JetBlue destination than ATL. If you think JFK is bad, wait until your trying to commute out of ATL and a cloud gets over the airport.

Not to mention...Delta sucks

I've used the commuter clause a number of times and never had a problem. Some things to remember
- Call sked to let them know that you may be using the commuter clause (after your plan 'a' flight goes bad).
- keep you seat requests. I've never been asked for them, but this gives some peace of mind.
- the company knows that you want to get there, because if you don't get there, you don't get paid.
- be nice to sked. They are in the same boat we are, understaffed and stretched thin.

I don't have my senioty list handy, but how far back into the list will they go when they furlough another 150 the first of September?

I feel horrible for the guys who are breaking their lease/selling house in CVG just to go to NY, only to get furloughed 3 months later.

What a mess this place is.
