Who knows if LGA counts toward the commuter clause for JFK?? For real and not just the rumor going around that it does. (Has anyone heard this from a reliable source I can bank on?)
P.S.S. I'm sure we will find out soon from the union and Comair but I'm just trying to make plans if anyone already commuting from there knows for sure!

Its funny you should mention ATL considering I'm about to move there to help my commute. (I'm one of the lucky ones going to JF'nK). I have friends and family there as well but back to the commuter game I guess. I moved to CVG 10 months ago so I wouldn't have to commute but oh f'in well. Whatever makes Comair happy(I know you're furloughed and by no means disrespect but commuting sucks a$$.)
Not to mention...Delta sucks
I've used the commuter clause a number of times and never had a problem. Some things to remember
- Call sked to let them know that you may be using the commuter clause (after your plan 'a' flight goes bad).
- keep you seat requests. I've never been asked for them, but this gives some peace of mind.
- the company knows that you want to get there, because if you don't get there, you don't get paid.
- be nice to sked. They are in the same boat we are, understaffed and stretched thin.

I don't have my senioty list handy, but how far back into the list will they go when they furlough another 150 the first of September?
I feel horrible for the guys who are breaking their lease/selling house in CVG just to go to NY, only to get furloughed 3 months later.
What a mess this place is.

But if they did furlough another 150 it would take it to 04/11/05.

You actually raise a very good point. If you don't want to live in the NYC area, then move to a place like Florida (near a city with a lot of JetBlue service to JFK). As most of you probably know, it can be hell trying to traverse the Appalachians in summer during SWAP conditions, and from a place like Florida you might have a chance to sneak in on occasion (when traffic from the West to the Northeast is shut down). And better yet, you'll have a better chance of making it home at the end of your trip!

And yes, to answer some of your questiosn, this is the Vag playing a trumpet.
As far as I know, the hotels near the airport (a Hyatt, Holiday Inn Express, and a Reinassance??) still offer the OH crew/employee discount.
Let me know if you need any other info.
