Did you bid/hold long call? It seems ready reserve will be the closest most of us come to flying this month.
Does anyone know if the hours in December pick up? I'm a long way from holding a line in JFK, but usually there is open time listed.....But I can't even see open time at the moment so I would guess that means there isn't anything open.
Line Holders: I have to be in JFK on the 22nd anyway so you wont hurt my feelings if you get overstuffed with turkey and need a poor reserve pilot to pick up the rest of your trip.
Disclaimer: the above statment is a joke and I don't condone or recomend anyone abusing their sick time/

Open Time has been off since Friday w/ the SAW opening. Everything may still be assigned but in the computers in OPS open time view through SBS had still not been authorized early this morning. When they open the viewing capability baqck up normally the link reappears on epic. I couldnt hold LC in CVG this month but did some how pull off A7 after one week of A2 and 1 trip.

I am happy with my November. Everyday I wanted...all weekends and 4 days over Thanksgiving, plus L2 without anything on it as of now. I have only flown 10 hours this month so I have been home a lot. I am even considering bidding reserve to try and get Christmas off. I thought about bidding back to JFK as I would be around #80, but the commute is bad and I am home so much bissing reserve in CVG.

I do hold long call, that could be why I have so many readys. The MCO guys bumped me down a few spots or I would have a line. Oh well, I know they would rather sit in the warm Flordia sun the be shipped off to JFK, I feel bad for them.

I don't really understand why Delta does this ... as a wholly owned we SHOULD get most of their flying, as the profit returns directly to them. But then again, I'm just a low level employee (not some 'knight-in-shining-armor' upper management pulling in multi millions for a golden parachute after destroying employee's morale, benefits, and quality of life) so what do I know.
And if your going to be on call in JFK on the 22nd, my guess is you'll get used if you have a morning-mid afternoon window. Someone will probably feel ill... damn tryptophan in turkey's

Once you can hold a line in JFK, its absolutely a blast. You dont get abused by scheduling anymore so you just show up, fly and go home. Within a month of getting my line, i was able to hold all commutable trips and most weekends off.

I really wonder how long reserve is going to be, with everyone moving back to JFK from MCO, and EVERYONE under me transferring back to CVG. Ive been on reserve since late July, and I really dont see myself getting a line until Spring, I got like my 5th choice on windows too (got my 3rd the last few months), ha...... cant complain though, I have 13 days off in November and all the days I want, and Thankgiving (3 days)....Even got some trips since I am still LOW TIME (need my 100 this week ah) Once my ! is gone, I won't even drive up to NY for my windows anymore. (currently I just drive up for rush hour times then sit reserve at home) I have never once been called on a window in 4 months being one of the first to call, so why would they call me after my ! goes away...... haha
