Sick call question:
If you have, lets say, 6 reserve days on (A6 window), and you call in sick for one of those days before the 90 minute call window begins, is it considered a day off in determining 1 in 7 if scheduling wants to move a soft day that falls on day 7? I was not able to find any answers in the contract as to whether or not a sick day counts as a day off if you call in before your assignment window starts.

During training, do we get any strings of days off where we are able to visit home for a day or two? And by home I mean one that is not within driving distance (2 hour flight). I know the non rev benefits don't kick in till after 30 days...just trying to see if i'll be able to see the family and unwind for a short period of time in the middle somewhere although I'm not getting my hopes nor am I expecting to...ill be studying like crazy....but just curious. thanks.

I hate to tell you this but you better get her prepared to only see you like 10-12 days a month for the rest of your aviation career. That's why they call it AIDS! Aviation Induced Divorce Syndrome.

I have qestion for you you guys? Say you were doing a repo flight from CVG to LEX, and CVG Hangar Parts brings out an avionics unit that the aircraft your ferrying requires for mx in LEX. Would you let them put it on the aircraft or tell them no way in hell you'll take it to LEX? Just wondering what the concensus is?
