Did Selvaggio give a number for possible furlough amounts? I've heard that he said 200 in the net conference? Can anyone confirm this?

Had some management guys come talk to the class today. Estimating 160 F's from Sept 1st, and quite possibly more throughout the fall months.

They did not give a numbers on the furloughs, waiting to see what type of early out they can offer.

Short answer yes, long answer

In general, the Federal-State Unemployment Insurance Program provides unemployment benefits to eligible workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own (as determined under State law), and meet other eligibility requirements of State law.

If I recall correctly, during the last furlough here, those that took the voluntary furlough were offered pass travel, insurance and a few other incentives. If you were involuntarily furloughed, you got zilch.
However, the catch was if you knew you were going to get furloughed anyway, you could opt for the voluntary furlough and still keep some of the benefits. But if you were rolling the dice and did not take the voluntary furlough, gambling that the axe wouldn't swing to your seniority, and got cut, the you were S.O.L.

I am not 100% sure if, by taking the voluntary furlough, if you were eligible for unemployment. I think those that did take it were eligible, but again, not 100% sure about that one.

Maybe they will offer the same thing this time around.

That was true initially. That is what prompted many to take the voluntary furlough. Before anyone left, however, they made it so that all who were furloughed received benefits. I went to Vegas and spent money I did have.

Were you able to increase your bank roll, or did you end up going into hock?
