Repo flight.

If it is a repo flight and if the said avionics unit is properly defered than yes.

A ferry flight (as in using a ferry permit) probably not, since CVG is already maintenance base where the repairs can be made, hence no reason it ferry it. I haven't heard of something like this happening.

Then again I'm not a captain and mx isn't something I deal with all that often...so I may be missing the finer points.

Not necessarily true....
Sometimes operational need dictates movement of an aircraft to a station other than a main mx base. At my airline, we have ferried aircraft out of the main base on many occasions.

If your mx squawk was on a napkin and they wanted you to fly the aircraft to LEX for the repair (carrying the part), I would say that's probably not a good idea.

Okay I'll go a little more into detail. Part was to fix a deferral in LEX and was not why the a/c was to repo to LEX. We do move a/c around to other mx bases depending on what's needed and operation schedule changes. LEX is the only mx base we do comp washes on the 50s at. So if an a/c needs a comp wash and its out of sync with it's sched mx due to ops schedule changes, we get a repo added on the line so it makes it sched mx.

With the launch program no longer in place, is eight weeks still the projected amount of time that one should expect to be in training? Looking at the timeline, it has 36 days listed, so if you figure in the weekends it works out to eight. Just trying to figure out how its all broken down.

Alright, is anyone else tired of the sun visor getting in the way and not being able to put it anywhere? I had the previous FO put it behind my seat to get it out of the way, but when i slid my seat back I snapped in in half. Then ill just slide it all the way back to get it out of the way, but come night time you have a huge black area by the window. So if you try to swing it up, it just falls down and hits you in the head. Why cant we just put a small piece of velcro on the visor and another piece over our heads? That way we can just swing it up and stick it to the ceiling.
