Comair updates?

The new contract is on the ALPA MEC website. As far as your question...it is my understanding that even if you are a reserve pilot you are still pay protected for the block for extra flying.

Please explain. Do you have something lined up as a direct entry captain? And who told you that you won't get to fly? I usually block around 85-95 hours a month. Also I'm not so sure were overstaffed with FO's anymore, it's getting harder and harder for me to drop legs off trips.

Before I ask this question.... do we have a message board that I don't know of that's just for Comair pilots?
Until then...I'll ask here. I picked up extra flying today at an outstation for a turn. I did it because it's out of my home airport, and was 5 hrs block and home by 5. Anyway, after 3 hrs of doing nothing in the terminal waiting for the inbound a/c, they canceled the flights and released me. It says "EF, SH, DS, X" on my line. I'm a reserve and this was a hard day off. Do I still get premium pay for what the block was supposed to be??? You can't even pull the original trip or my report/release times on SBS. I think I'm covered since it says "DS" on my SBS, but I'm not a lineholder and I'm not sure if the clause on p. 3-10 of the contract applies to all pilots. Figured I'd throw it out there for opinions before I call a union rep.
Thanks!

Would anyone be interested in starting a message board for Comair crews? I'd love to have something what Eagle has: Eaglelounge.com. I would start one but I'm not very computer savvy, and really have no idea how to start it. It would be a place where we could gossip, talk about overnights, rumors, trips, contract questions, or just plain b**** about stuff.
On that note, I'm sitting long call now and just pulled up SBS and see they swtiched me to A4 for tomorrow! No phone call. Aren't they suppose to notify us the day prior for a rsv classification change? Then I'm checking reserve status and see that I'm NOT the most junior guy available to sit SC. I'm gonna raise some heck tomorrow when they call at 5am to notify me.

Please correct me if my assumption is incorrect? Also, I'm from the MSP area and it seems that a place like Mesaba might be a better bet for me since they are hiring street captains (limited numbers) and several FOs recently hired are being upgraded within a few months (of course they meet ATP mins, etc). Seeing that I also meet ATP mins I wonder if trying there would be better than sitting on reserve for 10-12 months (seemingly flying very little, according to this thread) and then still not upgrading for 3-4yrs at best....
Sorry, not whining just wondering if what I read on here is true.

OK guys/gals there it is for a comair forum. I will not babysit it so please use some sort of decorum. Suggestions are welcome. If this forum is to succeed you must passs it one to your coworkers and friends. It is an anything goes forum.

Well, the feeling I get from this thread (pgs 40-60) seem that people are saying Comair is fat on FOs and that they haven't flown in several weeks while on reserve.
Please correct me if my assumption is incorrect?
