I highly doubt they were surprised to hear from them. I just don't see them saying.. "oh gee whizz, its the KY labor board, we never thought about this guys" ... They have to be smarter than that.

I just wonder if they are bluffing. I wonder if they are bluffing some of these furloughs also. And no better way to play that card than pull some paychecks. Makes it sound real, more real than it is. Thoughts??
Yes. You are giving them way too much credit. If this management knew what it was doing, Comair would not be in the situation it is in right now.

No. I can gurarantee you this was an intentional, deliberate act. The screw up is the entire management team's lack of leadership, integrity and ability to manage. They are more like high school hall monitors than managers. "Where's your hall pass?"

An accidental oversight would be payroll forgetting to pay a pilot premium pay for EF rather than straight pay.

An intentional act is deducting hundreds of dollards from 209 pilots' paychecks, leaving several with $0 and only changing their behavior when the Department of Labor and the full force of ALPA gets involved.

So you really believe that the KY Dept of Labor and the Governor himself, on one days notice, intervened in a labor issue that involves 209 pilots?

If management realized they did the wrong thing they why did they change what they were doing twice? ALPA fought with them so they gave a check for 2/3s and then when they got more heat they refunded it all. They are trying to get away with everything they can. If they did make a mistake I think I would've gotten an apology some where (the memo on epic is a joke that doesn't count). All I got was an attitude in the CP office when I went to get one of my checks.

Yes, I do because I was heavily involved and have first hand knowledge. The KY Undersecretary of Labor got involved, not the governor. I'm not too sure where you got that information.

Believe whatever you want to. If you believe this company has your best interests at heart, you are in for a rude awakening.

It appears one of our furloughed pilots has connections in high places.

They company is obviously here to help us. They stated this in the recent memo explaining the deduction reversal on epic hidden under my jobs--

"Ultimately, this change benefits our furloughed pilots, and we are pleased about that."

THANK YOU Mgt, we are so fortunate that you were looking out for the little guys!!

This change may help you, and I am happy for you if it does. However, you are giving praise to Mgt for doing their job and abiding by a contract that they signed. How often do they praise you for showing up to work?

I was being sarcastic. The part about Mgt helping us should have indicated this.
