I've come to the conclusion that ya'll are just anti SkyWest...Period. You can feed me the BS that you really, really care about us. Well I believe that about as much as I believe the management propoganda. The difference is, management here is somewhat reliant upon our work. They have nothing to gain by ticking us off and losing flying, while ya'll are just wanting a piece of our flying-pie. Deep down in your oh-so-human hearts you know that's the truth of it.

EXP AB, it is so true about everyone ENVYING and HATING SkyWest. We are happy, growing, compensated above average and all without a union. So, I can't wait to hear the responses to that comment.
ALPA just isn't right for SkyWest. In-house would work much better. I think our policy manual is fine the way it is. Yes, we could use better first year. But that number is deceiving with our work rules.
Airsupport!!! I NEVER EVER EVER EVER PROMISED that the company would give us a raise if we voted no. I said that the impression I got from our SAPA President led me to believe that we get our first year pay up to ASA's. Why they didn't do that last year when the pay proposal came out I don't know??? I once spoke with Ron Reber, our ex-CEO, and he told me he has trouble sleeping at night with what they pay us first year. He said they couldn't change it because it throws off their business model. How much truth in that??? Who knows!
Anyways, I can assure you that if our vote isn't rewarded by management with $$$ I will be highly disappointed and very much more likely (99.9%) to vote in a union next time around; if it goes there. I have NO REASON to distrust our management, which is what you ALPA guys can't understand. When they give me a reason to distrust them or vote in a union, then I will.
SkyWest not voting in a union isn't going to change one dam* thing. Regional pay will not go up until the majors strike or threaten a strike, then their pay will go up and hopefully we'll follow. I don't know how anyone can say we are holding the bar lower when we paid better than the vast majority of ALPA carriers and on par with the top ones like Comair, Eagle, Xjet. When one of us get Horizon pay, then we can talk. ASA's contract was certainly not industry leading.

I hope that United gets all of the 700 flying. That would be amazing. That would be a huge step in the right direction for the entire industry. That would be some of the first GOOD, GREAT, AMAZING news I have heard since 9/11. Why would you not want United flying CRJ-700's for mainline rates. And I like Skywest.
Remember, it is not "your" flying. It is United's flying. This industry is not what it used to be because regionals are flying mainline sized aircraft. If mainline flew mainline sized aircraft, this industry would be in a lot better shape. Please don't be selfish. It is better for everyone in the industry if United flies CRJ-700's.

Seriously, many of us at SkyWest don't really care what goes on at other regionals, why are you so concerned about us?

I understand that everything is great over there. Everyday is Christmas and you get a steak with every meal. Everyone knows that. We also know you guys are ripe for a whipsaw with two pilot groups under the corporate umbrella. You had a chance to remedy that but didn't. Whipsawing will get you at some point. Maybe then you'll vote in representation to help out the cause.
Best of luck on all of it...truly. I mean that and I don't harbor ill feelings toward you or anyone else over there. I just hope you know what you're doing - that is all.
(By the way, I don't work for a regional.)

I love this, would make a great sticker for the flight kit!
Many of the guys that left ASA that I know chose not to vote... What did ALPA ever do for the FOs at ASA? Not much as our new TA reflects. Its true that the union gets blamed for everything, but the fact remains that when an individual pilot at SKYWEST screws up he has no leg to stand on.
On another note, now that ASA has its TA... do we really care about this? I'm sure SKYWEST will become ALPA in time as market forces pressure the company to turn the screws on the pilots.
