I'm not from Jersey but I work during the summers there. Lol I have found some very nice areas in Jersey.. Until winter rolls around of course, then everything North of the Carolinas suck.

I would not move (reside) in the state of NJ! PA has a flat state tax of 3.07%. In NJ the more money you make...the more you will pay in taxes.

Unfortunately, working for the regionals, you will NEVER hit any of those tax brackets

Will my wife buy the latest Louis Vuitton bag, or the cheap copy from Hong Kong?
Will my kids eat, or will living in PHL take all the money in rent?
With current mortgage rates there is no reason you can't by a very nice home in nj or pa with taxes, 2000 per month or less. If you want to save, go to deleware. Look into bear de or Northwest area. Smyrna had sooner extreme values. All within short call reserve time.

Never say never, especially when triple premium pay is in season. My wife only makes about 35 grand and we will be comfortably in the 28% bracket for this year. I'd be pretty close even without her income.
