well for starters, a few hundred pilots and a few dozen planes are much easier to dispose of quickly than an operation the size of eagle, and xjt losing that is like 3 pdt's going away, you guys really dont realize how small potatoes we really are...
colgan was about the only place smaller than us i think, maybe commutair..

And you don't realize that we are being whipsawed against one another. The one who takes the lowest bid will be merged with. And then you're stuck with 2500 po pilots under your crappy choices. Think a merger is far fetched go back in history and see what AMR did to get the now Eagle. Ask the Nashville eagle guys how this played out.

Envoy is clearly merging with someone, its either that or they fold. But percentage wise, I think PDT has a lot of high dollar lifer Captains too don't they? I'm not sure how that Benefits AAG by merging these two companies. Sure there is the economies of scale that you get from mergers, but probably 1/2 their expense is salary.

Nobody is getting disposed of. Not Envoy and not Piedmont. All that passing this TA would give PDT is around 20 replacement aircraft...nothing earth shattering. Rejecting the TA will force Parker to re-evaluate how he moves forward. He will need to offer better terms to both PDT and Envoy in the future.
While PDT's Dash 8's may have an expiration date the PDT pilots don't...and it is the pilots who are the greatest commodity. Parker knows this and it is the same reason why Envoy will not fold.
I was quietly sitting back and hoping PDT pilots would make the best decision for their careers...until the TA was revealed. It is horrible and there are no protections or guarantees for Piedmont beyond 20 aircraft. Remember the offer that Envoy rejected had a minimum fleet guarantee of 170 aircraft to include 150 E-175s. This PDT TA isn't worth enough to use as toilet paper.

Totally agree management are thinking pdt pilots are like shooting fish in a barrel for the promise of jets. Say no and it's guaranteed for good things to happen. Don't fall for cheap negotiating tactics they need you more than you need them. Chances are pretty strong pdt will be merging with envoy anyways, they will not waste a pilot group certainly not by 2017 when the pilot shortage will be going full swing.
