Just keep in mind Piedmont and envoy are prime for a merger. That fast upgrade and flow may never pan out.

The whole regional industry is prime for consolidation so it's doesn't really matter where you go. I can tell you with some degree of certainty that Piedmont won't be merging with Envoy or anyone else in the near future. The whole point of keeping the 3 WOs separate is to keep the upgrade time low at PDT and PSA. You merge all or two of them together and they loose the quick upgrade tag line on their ads.

With the flow to AA. The 3 WOs are being designed as to being there a short time then move onto mainline. AA doesn't want to see people making the WOs a career stop. This way, the labor costs are kept low. It's cheaper to pay a 4-5 year CA than a 15 year or somebody who's topped out on the pay scale.

Then why spend millions and millions of dollars on a seperate training program, simulators, etc..? They are also exploring a new headquarters for us. They are going to ride this train right off the bridge if they have to, in order to keep new pilots coming. Any one who comes here in the next year is really poised for a quick upgrade and reasonable flow time. I never say never to anything, but you are looking at 5+ years before any possibility of merging would take shape.

I don't care what I fly - if flying a C172 offered more career opportunity than flying an E145 I'd fly the C172. Getting the proper basing to enable a one-leg commute from CMH is priority.

Honest question - if you live in CMH, why not go to PSA and be based in DAY? I think they have a two hour call out, you could sit at home on reserve.

Cmh is the best kept secret in commuting.

PDT has more to offer for a new-to-121 candidate than PSA does.

Any plans for E145s in Harrisburg? How easy is it to get that base as a new hire?
