PDT News and Rumors

Hey I've been hearing from gate agents that two of the front passenger seats are being pulled out of the Dash. Is there any truth to this and if so what is the reason? I'm just an interested commuter, since the dash has been my commute to work for the last 3 years.

This is true for our -300 models. It's being done for scope purposes.

That's interesting, thanks for the reply! I don't really understand how taking out 2 seats from a 50 passenger turboprop helps with scope. Would you explain that, I appreciate it! The gate agents also mentioned they heard it had something to do with scope, and they were asking me what scope ment. Lol

By taking a seat or two now these turbo props don't count towards the cap and AA can operate fly more RJs up to 65 seats. I believe PDT operates 11 of these Dash8-300. This buys them some time and the ability to operate more small RJs smaller as they continue to add Large RJ, since the NB fleet at AA continues to shrink, this only buys them a little room before they have to park RJs due to the CAP.
