I had the fortune of catching a ride on a PDT 145 yesterday.

I couldn't believe that you are doing manual weight and balance. Any word on when you will be getting ACARS?

Paper charts, manual weight and balance. That is a lot of work.

In all honesty, it's not a big deal. Ive been use to it since 2006. It takes a whole minute to do a WB and paper charts are not an issue to me, anyway.

It will be nice when we move to electronic WB and iPad charts, but it's not a huge deal once you get used to the paper way.

She is super busy and recruiting is super backed up. Keep calling and leaving voicemails. Also try texting. Good luck.

It's only a lot of work if you are truly lazy. We have ACARS for takeoff and landing data and communications, etc. and a fancy printer too. It just doesn't do W&B...you have to put on your big boy/girl pants for that. I've achieved master C.G. spinner status from my Dash days, so it's easy as pie. 😎

Everyone at Piedmont is guaranteed an EFB within 5-7 years of being hired.

It actually depends on if you do a circling approach to min on the check ride. I don't see the dash program changing right now.. who knows how long the revision to the training program would take.. the jet didnt have the circle to land to mins since it's assumed an rnav approach would be done.

Anyone with a circle to land restriction on their atp can have it removed with a quick check ride in a light twin with an faa examiner. 1 approach.. 20 minutes with foggles..

If you have a circle to land restriction on your type.. you have to do it in the actual plane or sim...

Not true on the approach type in the jet. You can do a circle on any approach but 1000/3 is your min unless plate calls for higher. The Dash is adopting the same standards. Also, the circling restrictions are aircraft specific, so you can't just run down to the FSDO and get your A320 limitation removed for example.
