If you had an interview scheduled and didn't show up, they take offense to that.

Are you saying that if you go to PDT for the quick upgrade, you will be a dash CA for a few months, and then displaced back to a 145 FO once the Dash's go away?

That doesn't sound too bad. Do you know someone who works here? I've known guys who've had someone vouch for them to the CP's and that nets them an interview.

If the company really wants to take on as many jets as advertised I doubt they will downgrade a dash captain and spend the resources to get them through Jet FO training just to have them upgrade right after. That would be working backwards. They will need captains.

Can a new hire with 1000 hours prior 121 experience and an ATP expect to upgrade in the jet in 6 months or is that the recruiter selling a dream?

You never answered how much notice you gave them on the no show. If you gave them plentry of notice to fill your interview slot then I don't see a issue. If you called them the day prior I suspect you won't get another interview.

With the Dash 8 incentives locking most people in the dash for 12 months, the company certainty wants more new hires to the jet hence 6 months is a very plausible upgrade time assumption if you have prior 121 time.

I've been here 6 months, hoping to get jet captain by year one. I have the time, and am passing up the dash program to try to secure a seat in the jet. Time will tell. There was hinting last night via teleconference that a situation could occur where we would need street captains. They are trying to avoid this which would mean as a new hire coming here now, you should be able to upgrade pretty easily within the next 6-12 months.
