If we (ALL DCI) are so lucky and fuel can just settle at around this range, Delta may go easy on the cuts or even add routes in 2009-2010. But.... I know that is a huge dream but hey who knows.

I agree ASA is a good airline and the pay is almost unmatched anyplace else, one huge reason this was the 1st place I sent the good old resume and then got hired. But Skywest has c*ck blocked us on A LOT of things. If they keep this up they will absorb all of our growth and we will just maintain our current size. I see no reason why Skywest INC. itself would let ASA shrink but to maintain its size and turn a profit at the sametime, yes. Could be really risky for them to GROW 2 airlines at the sametime. Therefor, they will grow their own child and not the adopted ASA. At least that is what I think.

I agree with everything you said. I like working here and I like the people. I just think that the chances of growth are slim or pretty much gone now....so I will just try to enjoy everything while I am afforded this opportunity!

Everyone hear that? I STAND CORRECTED, PINNACLE IS NOT HIRING. (They're just acquiring the remaining Delta -900s to fly with their ridiculously low pay rates).

(JP, going off to get a life now)
Yeah, I mean because ASA's current contract came sooooooo quick, and soooooo easy. Do a little research. They've been fighting for a contract for years, just like ASA did.

I agree....
The pilots there are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Today is not the right time for the pilots to strike. That can come and bite them in the butt because Delta is just looking for reasons to terminate contracts. So they just have no choice but to take the crappy pay till a TA can be agreed on. Things are even worst for them in many ways now that they are a DCI only airline too. I'd say go easy on those guys, they know they are underpaid. I talk to a few of them every few weeks. Their average lines are down to 44hrs too, at least they still get their 75hr pay. At least they haven't signed a stupid contract in a panic like.... you know who. These guys are still standing their ground how ever soft it is.

Pilots can't just go on strike, they have to be released. That hasn't happened in a while. Right now, Pinnacle pilots are STUCK with negotiations.

Oh yeah I understand that... My point was just right now the pilots don't have much leverage. Not with the way the economy is.

I'm aware of how long PCL has been in negotiations.

Do you know how we ended it after 5.5 years? We successfully shut the place down in September and threatened to do it again over the holidays. Contract settled 2 weeks before Thanksgiving.

What are you all waiting for... next Christmas? Sounds to me like you're in no rush... you are getting the -900s we were promised after all.

And flying them at arbitrated rates that are lower than industry standard -200 and even -700 rates.

Unless I'm mistaken? But man, what a deal!
