Why do you feel the need to educate someone with whom you are flying with ? Why is it deemed necessary to give him a copy of the AIM and highlight points to which you feel are important to this person ? Was he/she really that bad ? Because if you gave me a printout of the AIM we would have words at that instant to clear up this ' rift ' you seemed to have run into....

As to your last sentence, if I was your Captain and you had "words" with me about how I needn't fulfill my FOM required duty to educate you on where you were lacking your next "words" would be with the Chief Pilot explaining why you were the first FO I had ever removed from a trip. My guess is "he was politely trying to correct me on my abhorrent ATC knowledge and I was arrogant and unreceptive" won't be the answer he was looking for.
I've had Captains educate me in the past. Some good some bad. I didn't enjoy it, but I took it like a professional and absorbed the wisdom.
Pride and ignorance are a deadly combo and will get you killed in a airplane.

You seem to be missing the point and mocking the wrong person. Being a little rusty on IFR procedures at uncontrolled fields is somewhat forgivable and not the issue. Covering for your ignorance with rude and counterproductive behavior is. Add being unreceptive to needed correction and you've got a real d-bag pilot looking for a place to have a serious accident. What happens when this genius applies this attitude to something more critical than radio decorum?

Every part 121 FOM I have ever seen listed education/guidance as a required function of the Captain. Your's have obviously been failing you in this regard.

Seriously man, unless you were the FO in question, don't fight the thread. And if you are the FO mentioned by the OP, you need to check your attitude.
