- Call for TO checklist
- Takeoff runway 24R at LAX fly runway heading 3000'
- "Positive rate, gear up"
- Acceleration altitude - Call for Climb Check
- Fly radar vector to join radial 230 to the Santa Monica VOR (050 course inbound on HSI)
- Level off at 3000', 160 KIAS
- Call out for cruise check
- Advise when ready to copy holding instructions (Exchange flight controls with Sim instructor, he pauses sim and you take your time briefing the hold)
- If you brief the hold correctly they don't make you hold most of the time, although mine was a direct entry so he did make me do the entry (Entries were different for everyone!)
- Radar Vectors for ILS 24R with the Flight Director
- Call for Approach Checklist
- Join LOC at 2200' until established, cleared for ILS 24R LAX at 120 KIAS
- ILS to a missed
- Execute missed as pusblished, eventually vectored for another ILS 24R this time without the flight director
They told us the standards are not hardcore as long as you are correcting and you are doing a reasonable job with everything. I think they were interested in the CRM more so than the flying.

When I did the sim we were crunched for time (lots interviewed that day) so we only got one approach to a landing. I forgot to even touch the throttle until I started the approach. I zoomed around thru the hold and all at about 195kts. I somehow managed to figure out the approach and entry quickly so I didn't shoot over the VOR while I was doing, still no bells in my head had gone off yet! I thought if I called for the cruise checklist he would have adjusted to cruise power but he didn't, I guess I needed to touch it first lol. Anyways all my procedures were solid, I made all the corrections and my scan was just a little rusty. I talked a lot so he could tell what my brain was thinking. I know one in our group was sent home because he messed up the hold, turned and it never intercepted. They expect you to be a little nervous, but you do have to figure out your hold and entry on the fly and execute it correctly. Everyone gets a different hold. If you are worried about it, have someone read you holds while you sit in a chair and figure them out in your lap. The sim flies pretty nice for a sim, very stable. Don't forget your checklists and CRM either - use the NFP for everything you can, they want to see this! He will set bugs and radios and courses and everything!

Question for you guys. I completed and sent my airlineapps application. I got an email today from ae recruitment saying I needed to complete a section of the addendum. Only problem is it is complete! I can't find anything that is missing. Anyone run into this problem before? Also who can I contact to make sure it gets taken care of?

There are none. Any hot spots are found on the Jepp airport diagram and are circled in red and I think all the ones I've seen also have an explanation as to why its a hot spot (converging intersections, etc).
